Ladbrokes Poker App Review |

LADBROKES MOBILE SUMMARY
|
INTRODUCTION
Ladbrokes are one of the most familiar names connected to gambling activities in the UK. After launching online, the company moved into the online poker market in 2011 by joining the Microgaming Poker Network, but in March 2013 announced plans to move to Playtech's iPoker network instead, which it did at the start of 2014. The latest (at the time of this review) Ladbrokes native poker app for both iOS and Android was launched in September, 2014. This article will tell you all you need to know about the app, and how to download and install it to your phone or tablet. |
HOW TO INSTALL
To use the Ladbrokes poker mobile app, you will need to be a Ladbrokes customer. The best way to sign up at Ladbrokes is via the desktop version of their site, which you can visit at Ladbrokes.com. To sign-up, click on the green 'join' button in the top right-hand corner of the site. This will open up a new window in which you can fill in all your personal information. Once you've compete the registration, you can click on the 'Create Account' button to complete your registration.
Note, that if you have a PayPal account, you can skip the registration process at Ladbrokes and instead register via the information that's associated with your PayPal account, saving you a little bit of time.
iOS Devices: There are two ways of obtaining the Ladbrokes poker mobile app for your iPhone or iPad. You can either visit the 'Mobile' section of the Ladbrokes page where you will find a QR code that you can scan in to start the download, or you can visit the iOS App Store and search for the app there.
The app requires iOS 5 or later, and has been optimised for use on iPhones, iPads and the iPod touch.
Android Devices: First of all, you need to ignore the advice given on the mobile page that says the app is available at the 'Android Market' – Google Play does not permit apps that allow real money gambling to be hosted there.
You can either visit the desktop version of the Ladbrokes poker mobile app and scan a QR code, or a much easier way is to visit the Ladbrokes mobile site on your device and click on the 'poker' link. This will take you through to a further page where you can download the Android app as an apk file. Once downloaded you will then be able to install the app onto your mobile device.
APP FEATURES
As Ladbrokes is part of the popular iPoker network, the software has been developed by Playtech. It's an HTML5-based app, which means it offers maximum compatibility with all types of iOS and Android mobile devices.
The major disappointment with the app is that you can only play at cash tables. There are no Sit & Go or single or multi-table tournaments available.
The lobby is extremely easy to use, and you'll be able to both see and select from a decent range of tables with stakes from micro to high-roller limits.
The layout of the tables via the app will be familiar to anyone who has played at a Playtech-powered mobile poker app before, even down to the 'cartoon-style' avatars that are easily recognised from both desktop and mobile Playtech poker sites. The tables are nicely uncluttered, and the controls are very easy to use. Play is smooth and the app is nicely responsive – connection hiccups seem rare.
You can easily play Speed Poker – Ladbrokes version of fast-fold poker – via the app.
BONUSES & PROMOTIONS
To kick off your poker career at Ladbrokes, the site offers you a massive potential 200 percent deposit bonus that could be worth up to £1,200.
Once awarded, this bonus is then held and released in chunks of $5 or €5 each time you earn 170 'Status Poker Points' or SPPs if your account is in USD, or 240 SPPs if your account is Euros.
You can earn SPPs by playing in tournaments at Ladbrokes. For every €1 you spend in tournament fees, you receive 14 SPPs, or 16 SPPs for every £1 you spend (Note: this confusing 'mix and match' approach to currencies is taken directly from Ladbrokes' promotion pages and is not a fault with this review!).
Players have three months from the time they open their Ladbrokes poker account to convert as much of their bonus as they can, else the bonus money is forfeited.
Once you're a Ladbrokes poker player you can enjoy the frequent promotions that Ladbrokes offer, such as generous freerolls and tournaments where the prize fund can reach a stellar €100,000.

CASHIER OPTIONS
Ladbrokes allows a huge amount of cashier options, and is one of the few poker rooms that will allow you to fund your account using PayPal.
You can of course use your Visa or MasterCard account (including Visa Electron) but you will not be able to make withdrawals to your MasterCard account as per MasterCard's own rules. Your other cashier options are Western Union, Neteller, Ukash, Skrill, WebMoney, Qiwi, Rndex and iDeal.
CONCLUSION
With the backing of Playtech behind them, Ladbrokes cannot really go wrong here. Playtech have been one of the gambling industry's leading players for over fifteen years, and the company works diligently to maintain that position.
The HMTL5-based app cannot really be faulted if you just want to play cash games, and because you'll be playing as part of the iPoker network, you will find plenty of opposition at all kinds of levels available to sit down with at all times. It would just be nice if SnGs and MTTs were also available via the app.
Coupled with Ladbrokes' multiple cashier options, the Ladbrokes poker mobile app really is one of the best mobile poker sites you'll be able to find anywhere.
